Blessing Health System

Nursing Excellence

Dear fellow nurses:

It's an exciting time to be in the profession of nursing, and a thrilling time to be a nurse working at Blessing Hospital.

Medicine makes amazing advances regularly, challenging our intellect and expanding our skill set. As people live longer and need more healthcare, they rely on nurses to help them understand their complicated treatment regimes in a language they can understand and with the care and compassion for which our profession is revered.

Blessing Hospital embraces medical advances with open arms and an open mind. We use an award winning computer system called BAR - Blessing's Automated Record - for multidisciplinary documentation, test ordering, results review, and to gain access to thousands of evidence based practice guidelines in a matter of moments.

Yet, we never lose sight of why we are nurses - the patient. Blessing Hospital is putting into action a couple of critical philosophies to insure we remain as connected to the patient and family as we are to the keyboard and mouse. We have begun learning the methods of Relationship-Based Care, a nursing model of care that will bring us even closer to our patients and their families, and with each other as a team of caregivers.  Additionally, we are employing techniques of the Studer Group to reinforce Blessing's position as the best choice for a patient and family, as well as the best employer for healthcare professionals.

We are so proud of what we have achieved, and equally confident about our future, that we are on the journey to earn national Magnet status.

Don't just take my word for it.  Read what our some of our patients and nurses have to say on the following pages of this website. Then, please contact us. We'd love to have you join our team and the excitement at Blessing Hospital.
