Visitors
To help us provide the best care and environment for our patients, please abide by the following rules for visitors:
- Smoking is not allowed inside the Hospital or outside the main entrances.
- Standard visiting hours for non-family visitors are from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. Specific visiting hours and rules for each nursing unit are available at the nurses station.
- Children under 12 years old should be accompanied by an adult. Children under six years old may visit if the family makes arrangements with the registered nurse caring for the patient.
- If you have a cold, fever or infectious condition, please do not visit any patient. Instead send a card or make a phone call from home.
- Protect the patient's privacy by knocking on the door before entering the room.
- Upon request of the doctor or nurse, please leave the patient's room so necessary care, examinations or treatments can be conducted.
- Limit the length of your visit to a reasonable period. A five or 10 minute visit will cheer the patient, but a longer stay may cause fatigue.
- In double patient rooms, we request there be just two visitors per patient in the room at a time.
- Patients in private rooms may have as many visitors as they desire and space permits.
- Avoid sending food items to the patient, as a restricted diet may be in place.
