Since 1982, The Blessing Hospice & Palliative Care has been providing comprehensive terminal care with an experienced team of physicians, nurses, social workers, clergy, home health aides, volunteers and bereavement services. Together, they help ease burdens and bring peace to patients and their families.
Last year, the Hospice staff began offering palliative care to patients on Blessing Hospital's Skilled Nursing Unit, and patients of renal dialysis and the Cancer Center. Palliative care helps patients experiencing increasing symptoms of chronic illness, those with symptoms arising from disease-directed treatments, and patients with serious, life-limiting illnesses in need of support and information regarding advanced planning and care options.
Whether providing hospice service or palliative care, the staff has the knowledge and training needed to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and loved ones at home or in participating nursing homes. Should hospitalization be needed, The Blessing Hospice will coordinate all of the patient's needs.
Hospice and palliative care services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance. However, support by The Blessing Foundation allows care to be provided to patients and families regardless of their ability to pay.
The Blessing Hospice & Palliative Care staff are based in four regional offices (listed below). If you would like more information about our services, please call us toll-free 877-672-7610:
